Flea markets, thrift stores, Aunt Dorothy’s jewelry box-all places to find good old costume jewelry that may have had a good life. But take it all apart and match it up with another and you have a brand new, one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. I love the romantic, feminine look of vintage, Victorian style Jewelry. I may use a larger focal piece or maybe just the smaller crystals off of a pair of earrings, or a section of chain from a necklace. Usually I use new parts (click here https://amzn.to/47xxV9E) for the mechanics like the pierced part of the earring and hooks or clasps for other repurposed jewelry. Other supplies that I always use are needle nose plyers, wire cutters, Jump rings (in gold and silver) (click here ! https://amzn.to/3svQ1d4 )and fine gauge jewelry wire. If you think you may need jewelry glue, I recommend E6000.(click here to get !https://amzn.to/3SFQTGS )Once it dries, strong stuff!… And a little goes a long way!

When I first started to create these Vintage looks, I would look at pictures to figure out how to put them together or watch a video. The most important thing is to put it together so it is not falling apart. The best feeling is getting a compliment while wearing a pair and saying “Oh! Thank You! I made them!

I find Upcyling vintage jewelry therapeutic. Looking through all the beads and chains and brooches and imagining where they have been. Creating something beautiful reduces stress and decreases anxiety.
